Reviewing Maybelline's 'Tattoo Brow'

Maybelline 'Tattoo Brow'

Okay, so I'm the kind of person that could really do with a little helping hand in the eyebrow department. I have never over-plucked or got a little too confident with a razor, just been lumbered with non-delevigne like eyebrows. They're sparse and super light - the complete polar opposite of my dark brown (basically black) locks.

Therefore, a little help is greatly appreciated to help this gal out. This is why Maybelline's new 'Tattoo Brow' really appealed to me.

My Brow History

So, I thought I'd start with the history of my brows. There's quiiiiite a lot of it but I'll condense it here for you. I've always had issues with my non-existent eyebrows especially since the era of drawing them in became a thing. I was that girl with no framing to her face - basically just a little potato helplessly searching for the answer to all my prayers.

Did I find it? Not quickly no. It took me a good few years of bad eyebrows to find a fix. I went through the harsh block-y drawn on pencil brows, the powdered brows, the pomade brows.. you name it I've done it. Now I currently use a dupe of Wunder Brow - but that's for another post.

This just wasn't cutting it though. When I was there sweating like there was no tomorrow in the gym and walking in and out of my shared kitchen to get snacks - who was my saving grace? Where were my eyebrows! So... I tried Maybelline's Tattoo Brow in Dark Brown.

I also forgot to mention that I had my eyebrows micro-bladed - also to NO AVAIL.

Maybelline's Promise

Wake up to evenly-filled brows!
Our 1st easy peel off lash tint with up to 3 day wear.
For fuller natural looking brows.

Now that... That sounds like the dream.

The Products Application Process

The product itself has a kind of 'goopy' consistency. This can mean that it is a struggle to purely use the brush provided. Therefore, to resolve this I opt for an angled brush. This means that application is a lot easier and more accurate.

I apply it generously to my eyebrows. It states that you should leave it on for a minimum of 20 minutes for an optimum result. Personally, I often leave the product on overnight to ensure that I get real staying power.

After setting your eyebrows you peel them off to reveal the finished result.

Personally I think that the products overall result is a really nice colour - it can look slightly warm particularly after a few showers so if this isn't your thing then perhaps steer clear.

Does Maybelline Live Up To It's Promise?

For me personally, YES. This product has saved me. It really is a game-changer. I think that it has revolutionised eyebrow products. It applies easily, sets well and peels off with ease to produce a really gorgeous coloured brow beneath.

It doesn't quite last three days however it does have great staying power - better than any other brow product that I have tried. If you have naturally thick brows I personally wouldn't recommend this for you as it's quite a lot of hassle for someone with naturally beautiful brows. If however, you're like me and are conscious of your sparse brows then I recommend this product 100%.

Thank you for reading this post - I hope you're all having a wonderful day.
